A cross inside a circle is usually referred to as a sun wheel or wheel cross.

These symbols are found at all rock carving sites in Southeast Scania. Sun symbols are important all over the world within psychoanalysis, symbolism, astrology, religion and mysticism. They are known to have been used as decorative elements and symbols in Scandinavia since the Neolithic period. It is believed that the wheel cross, as well as the sun itself, represents the four seasons. The open wheel cross, or swastika, has been used within various religions including Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, but it is above all infamous as a Nazi emblem.
